Welcome to Groton Silent Book Club!

Bring your current book and read in companionable silence with fellow introverts—no discussion required! Followed by an optional book share. Find our next meeting and more information here. 

Read that book you’ve been putting off by joining the Silent Book Club. We will have a quiet space setup at the New Boston Library for anyone interested in bringing in your own book, or checking one out from the library to read.

This group will plan to meet the second Monday of every month for one hour, but the date might change due to holidays or library closures. 

Adults only, and socialization is optional.

Take some time out of your busy schedule and join us for the new Silent Book Club at Somerset Heritage Centre for exclusive library access on the last Friday of each month. It’s a time for some peace and quiet where you can pick up a book and get stuck in, surrounded by the history of Somerset.

Bring your own book with you and if you don’t have a book of your own, we have plenty! Somerset Local Studies Library holds published works relating to all aspects of Somerset life, including books, pamphlets, maps, journal articles and illustrations.

Silent Book Clubs have no assigned reading: they allow likeminded people to meet and sit with a cuppa and a biscuit* and read together in quiet companionship. Once you’ve done your reading feel free to stay and have a chat with your fellow book-clubbers afterwards.

Busy running around? No time to sit and read? Join us for 'Silent Book Club!' For the first half hour, we will visit, enjoy a snack, and talk about books. Then we will settle in to read for the next 45 minutes. Come join at any time!

Calling all Teens and Adults! Come join us at the Levi E. Coe Library for Silent Book Club! SBC is a book club that combines your enjoyment of reading (a physical book, tablet, or even audio) with being in the quiet company of others. There is no pressure to discuss what you are reading, it's simply a time to come together with like-minded book lovers to partake in your favorite pastime . The first 15 minutes are for settling in and optional discussion followed by an hour of uninterrupted reading.
