Reframe is a nonalcoholic bar and lounge recently opened in Willimantic, Connecticut. It is designed to be a space where people can spend time with friends and make new friends, to go out and celebrate. We aim to reframe what it means to be sober. I want to bring people into the space and I think a Silent Book Club is right in line with Reframe's mission: a chance to try socializing without alcohol, a safe space to spend time and not feel a need to drink, and a chance to be themselves. I love the idea of a space to be, to carve out time for self-care like reading, and a place to make new connections.

At Stonington Free Library Silent Book Club there’s no pressure to finish an assigned book or have a formal discussion.

Bring your own book or find one while you’re at the library. There may occasionally be light refreshments and giveaways.

Sit wherever you like in the library for quiet reading time.

Silent Book Club is an international phenomenon that we're excited to bring to the Ledyard Library! At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. Readers of all ages are welcome.

Bring your own ebook, audiobook, novel, comic books, and beyond, or, borrow one from the library! Friends and strangers gather, introduce themselves, and settle in for 45 minutes of silent reading. Bring your own snacks. Tea provided. This event series is free and open to the public. 

Our club meets on the first Monday of the month from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Ledyard Gales Ferry Library at 18 Hurlbutt Road, Gales Ferry, CT. You can find updates on the library's website or follow us on Facebook! We can't wait to see you there.

Phoebe's Silent Book Club meets monthly Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library in Old Lyme, CT. BYOB! (Bring Your Own BOOK!) For the first half hour we will touch base and socialize with some coffee and snacks. For the rest of the time we will silently enjoy each others' company with our books of choice.
