The Van Wert County, Brumback Silent Book Club is a welcoming and relaxed gathering for book lovers of all kinds! Unlike traditional book clubs, there’s no required reading or assigned books—just bring whatever you’re currently enjoying. We begin each session with light conversation and the option to share your reading picks, then spend quiet time immersed in our individual books. This flexible format is perfect for busy readers who value community and uninterrupted reading time. Join us to connect with fellow book enthusiasts and savor the joy of reading in a supportive and peaceful atmosphere!

I created this group after moving away from home for the first time and was in need of a community. A conversation with my husband about potentially starting my own thing sparked something and it has grown into something wonderful. 

Kettering Silent Book Club has fostered friendships, community, kindness, and allowed me to find a place in a new environment. I hope everyone that joins us feels welcomed, supported, and valued. This was a dream that became a possibility simply by taking the jump. If you need friends that feel like family, laughter to fill your soul, and a place you belong I’d love for you to join us! 

Read that book you’ve been putting off by joining the Silent Book Club. We will have a quiet space setup at the New Boston Library for anyone interested in bringing in your own book, or checking one out from the library to read.

This group will plan to meet the second Monday of every month for one hour, but the date might change due to holidays or library closures. 

Adults only, and socialization is optional.

This chapter is a spinoff of the Columbus Silent Book Club Chapter, specifically organized to serve the West Columbus area. The goal of this group is to be a low pressure, judgement free space where we can gather, read, and enjoy each other's company.

Whether you're a student, faculty member, staff, or part of our local community, you're invited to join our merry band of readers.

We kick things off by catching up and sharing our latest literary finds—because let's be honest, we all love a good book recommendation. After we've had our fill of bookish banter, we settle into what we're really here for: one glorious hour of uninterrupted, blissful reading. No distractions, no small talk, just you and your book.

So, bring your favorite novel, cozy up in a corner, and let's get lost in the pages together. The Wayne College Library Silent Book Club isn’t just a club; it’s a retreat for your soul, a delightful escape where the only sound is the turning of pages and maybe the occasional muffled chuckle at a funny passage.

Our Silent chapter services those book lovers in the Olmsted Falls and surrounding areas to the west of Cleveland who have a harder time traveling into the city for a meet up.

Bring your current book or audiobook and read or listen (with headphones) for one hour with fellow readers. No pressure to talk about your book or converse with anyone. We ask that you purchase a drink or snack from Gathering Grounds as a thank you for the space they are providing.

Schedule:
4:30-5:00: Arrive at Gathering Grounds; buy a drink and/or snack; settle in The Study for an hour of reading or listening; socialize until 5:00
5:00-6:00: Silent reading or listening
6:00-6:30: Talk amongst yourselves or head home
Gathering Grounds asks that we are out of The Study by 6:30.
