At Fawn and Fox Books Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYO Book.

Our events are designed to cultivate community connection and promote self care. Everyone is welcome, and anyone can join! Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, enjoy some food or drinks from The Simple Brew, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour of silent reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not depending on your desired level of engagement.

Come on by for a little mingling with other community minded book lovers in the community who are also looking to get out of the house, become a little more social or not and then enjoy some quality reading time.

Enjoy the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature while enjoying silent reading time. Bring your lunch to enjoy on Elachee Nature Science Center’s beautiful patio and then stay afterwards to meet fellow nature lovers.

Adirondack chairs are available, but participants are welcome to bring their own camping chairs or even hammocks!

Schedule:
12:30-1:00 - Find a spot and eat your brown bag lunch. A drink machine is available.
1:00-2:00 - Silent Reading under the trees.
2:00-2:30 - Enjoy the patio while meeting new friends.

SBC Bryn Mawr provides book lovers who live in or near the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis with a chance to build community with existing, new and future friends. The club's purpose aligns with the mission of Big Hill Books, Bryn Mawr's neighborhood bookstore, where SBC Bryn Mawr meets every Tuesday over the lunch hour.

Our group meets up at and is hosted by The Romance Era Bookshop. There is a large indoor event space attached to the bookshop that can hold up to 100 people (but max about 15 show up). There are different reading areas to choose from (couches, tables and floor mats for those who like to read laying down). We have plans to meet up at local places on Main Street downtown from time to time but for the mostly part we meet at the same place!

Our Silent Book Club was created to provide a safe space for individuals to be around others without the pressure to read a specific book or answer questions. Bring your own book, have a seat, and read quietly. Seating will be in the coffee bar on the main level, and outdoor seating in the back garden will be available if weather permits.
