We gather together as like-minded book lovers, whether novice or aficionado, to sit in blissful silence while diving into the pages of book. Some of us escape into far off lands that spark our imaginations and bring creativity to life. Some may be deep in thought while learning from an educational or life skills volume. Even some will be searching for a new author or genre to test the waters in. Whatever you seek between the pages, on your e-reader screen, or in your headphones, join us in peaceful companionship.

Queer Silent Book Club Salem meets once a month at Prismatic Coffee. This group offers a low-pressure book club to Salem LGBTQ+ folks and allies, along with monthly themed book suggestions to spark community discussion and to promote pleasurable escapism through reading.

As James Baldwin famously said, “You think your pain and heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world. But then you read.”

Hello Corvallis, We are book lovers that meet on the last Wednesday of each month to read at the Corvallis chapter of Silent Book Club. You bring your own book. We settle in for the first half hour with our food and drinks. We read silently for the next hour. The last half hour is open to mingle and say hi to other book club members. You can learn about new books and meet some liked minded community members. You can also just keep reading or pay your tab and go home. So join the fun and take yourself out on a date with your favorite book.
