Joseph-Beth Booksellers is an independent bookstore located in Lexington, KY. We also have an in-store connected bistro that offers delicious eats and drinks. We love offering a space where readers can come together and socialize, find new reads to love, and just be surrounded by the beauty of books!

Welcome to Silent Book Club at The Evergreen: Southern Kitchen and Gathering Place.

Our club is a haven for book lovers–introverts and extroverts–who seek a break from their daily lives to find the joy in simply reading in good company. Bring your favorite book, e-book, audiobook, magazine, whatever you are currently reading, and join us. No reading lists or discussion prompts. We’ll gather, order from the cafe menu, read for an hour, and, if you’d like to stay, give book recommendations for the last 15-30 minutes.

Can’t come every week? We’ll be excited to see you when you join us.

Need a book? Finish a book and want to share? Grab or drop a book at our Little Free Library in the front of the cafe, where your next literary treasure is waiting just for you.

The Calloway County Public Library is pleased to introduce our Silent Book Club! Bring a book or check one out, settle into our cozy chairs, and enjoy some quiet, quality reading time with fellow book lovers!

There are no assigned readings or pressured discussions. Drop in anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 and enjoy quiet reading. At 7:00, we will gather for an enjoyable discussion where everyone shares what they are reading with others. Or, if you like, you can keep on reading. (Our discussion will run 7:00–7:30 p.m.)
It's the perfect excuse to get some reading done and a great opportunity to share book recommendations and meet new people!
