Do you enjoy reading books but don't want to join a book club because you don't want the assigned reading commitment? If you can relate, then the Silent Book Club at Gammelgården Museum Chapter is for you!

With our book club, you can read any book you want! You may either bring your own book, read one from the museum's resource library, or purchase a book in the museum's gift shop (Butik). Just think about those silent reading days in school, but now you live for the days when you can return to reading.

We'll meet at Gammelgården, choose your book (if you didn't bring one from home), and socialize for the first thirty minutes.

We read silently for one hour.

We socialize for the last thirty minutes - either talking about the books we are reading, looking at the museum's exhibits and displays, or taking a walk on the museum's 11 acres.

We go home knowing we met great people, enjoyed being at a museum, and finally set aside time to read our to-be-read book(s).

SBC Bryn Mawr provides book lovers who live in or near the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis with a chance to build community with existing, new and future friends. The club's purpose aligns with the mission of Big Hill Books, Bryn Mawr's neighborhood bookstore, where SBC Bryn Mawr meets every Tuesday over the lunch hour.
