The Silent Book Club hosted by Lykke Books at Ulm Sweet Ulm is intended to be a fellowship offering for fellow book-lovers in our cozy, inclusive community hub located in downtown New Ulm. The group meets monthly and includes formal and informal opportunities to connect with other bookish people. The space features a community center, a grab-and-go cafe, community gathering spaces including a rentable multi-purpose gym, and an indoor artisan market.

Our Silent Book Club is open to anyone looking for a place to read in a peaceful, welcoming environment, free of everyday life interruptions. We meet on the first Sunday of every month. The first 15 minutes are used to casually connect with other readers, the next hour and a half will be dedicated to silently reading the book of your choice, and the last 15 minutes will be reserved for those who would like to briefly discuss what they read. Put on your comfy lounge clothes, grab your book, and come join us!

Just show up with whatever you'd like to read. Before and after the designated reading time, attendees can chat about what they are reading or anything else—or not!

Silent Book Club creates a comfortable shared space and the time to enjoy the love of reading. Monthly on the last Friday, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Reading hour starts at 6:30.

This is a book club for introverts! Bring the book you are currently reading and find the perfect spot at the bookstore to read! Not currently reading a book? That's ok, you can always pick something up at the store before we start. We will read silently together for 40 minutes, then spend 20 mins discussing our books. You don't have to participate in the conversation, you can keep reading, or you can listen in.

We have folding chairs, but they aren't comfy reading chairs. If you have a camping chair or a floor pillow, bring it. Your butt will thank you.
