Do you love the idea of a book club, but prefer to read at your own pace? Then why not join us and our Silent Book Club at Y Siop Fach Sero (The Old Library) for a dedicated weekly reading session. Meet at our cosy community space for a peaceful gathering where you can bring any book, settle in, and enjoy reading in quiet company. The coffee shop sells drinks, cakes and snacks — but no obligation to purchase anything.

There are no assigned texts, no pressure of deadlines, just one hour to focus on your own reading without interruptions. Our meetups start with a relaxed 30 minutes to arrive and order drinks, followed by an hour of silent reading. For the final 30 minutes, you are welcome to chat, discuss, or share book recommendations, or just keep reading! Do you ever struggle to find time to read? Want to meet other avid readers in your area? At Portsmouth's Silent Book Club there is no assigned reading, just bring yourself and a book! There will be optional socialising before and after the reading time to give you the opportunity to discuss books with the community but you are more than welcome to spend that time reading too.

Welcome to the Maidenhead Silent Book Club!

Come join us for a relaxing evening of reading in Maidenhead.

At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. This is a free event, where friends or strangers gather at a set time and location, order food or drinks, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading to yourselves. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!

There is absolutely no pressure to talk to anyone or socialise in any way. Just bring yourself and your book, and take time out from scrolling on your phone and unwind in the company of like-minded individuals It's the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
