Melissa Public Library is excited to introduce the Silent Book Club to our patrons! We are a library that serves a small community and, as the Adult Services Librarian, I am constantly looking for new ways to share the joy of reading with our patrons and neighbors.

A Quiet Book Club will help those whose who are maybe introverted, or seek a few moments of stillness, to enjoy some comradery with others who share their love of books.

Silent Book Club is a group where there is no assigned reading and no pressure to finish a book on time. It's like an Introvert Happy Hour.

This group is for those who just want to relax and read along with other bookish people. Silence is the main part of the allotted time, there will be an optional time to share what you are reading and discuss literary things or just get to know one another.

Let's read together in quiet camaraderie.

We meet monthly in person at different locations to support our local businesses. Individual reading time and optional social time is the agenda!

Bring any book you choose, enjoy some refreshments, and stay for optional socializing just before and after our reading time.
