Spend a couple of hours reading communally in quiet camaraderie at NOPL's first-ever silent book club. Bring a book of your choice or grab one of the librarian's recommended reads, cozy up, and read! No discussion, no questions, no talking, just the gentle turning of pages to fill the evening.

We’re eager to create space for readers of all kind, both avid and casual, so we are launching a Syracuse chapter of Silent Book Club to be held at Peaks Coffee Company.

The first half hour will be for socializing, finding a seat and grabbing a coffee or tea. We’ll then have and hour of silent reading, followed by another half hour of socializing (which is totally optional, by the way).

Our goal is to be the most flexible book club you’ve been to! Come late, leave early, talk about what you’re reading, don’t talk to anyone— it’s totally up to you.
