The Silent Book Club meets the 3rd Friday of the month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The Silent Book Club, the Library’s newest book club, is perfect for readers who want to choose which books they read without being expected to participate in a mandatory discussion. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with books by carving out a designated time to read communally in quiet camaraderie!

Come Join our community of readers and read together silently for an hour. Afterwards you can stay and mingle, share your thoughts on your book or just sit silently and continue to read (or just go home if you prefer). There is no assigned reading and no expectations just the perfect book club for those who want to read with people without the pressure of having to share (unless you want to share that is)

Silent Book Club in the WB meets monthly on Tuesday night at the West Bloomfield Library. We began our chapter at the beginning of 2024 and are looking to let more community members know about our group and share our passion for reading. Life can easily get in the way of reading!

Come spend an hour or two each month at the library with your new favorite read (or check one out) and relax with other book lovers. Light refreshments provided. For additional information or questions, please email events@wblib.org.

Van Buren Community Center (VBC) announces, with our Grand Opening in June 2024, a new social club - Silent Book Club! Once a month on Saturdays we will get together in a quiet room of the community center to read silently as a group. It's a BYOBook party and you are invited! No fees to join us.Club registration is coming soon - please check the website this spring.

Feel free to bring your book, your favorite non-alcoholic beverage and a snack if you would like! We will silently read as a group for an hour, then you can stay behind and socialize if you would like. This is your chance to read, to be social, and to do so without the pressure of conversation! We hope you book it over to the VBC and join us!

Join us monthly as we partner with Silent Book Club! We will meet throughout the main floor of the Alger Center at The War Memorial. Bring your own book and enjoy socializing with other book lovers…or not! You can continue to read on your own if that’s what you would like to do. The choice is up to you!

During the last half of the event, we will open the multipurpose room for those who would like to share a snack and socialize about their current book or try out some book-related icebreakers!
