Silent Book Club is all about enjoying reading without any of the pressure; discussions and socializing are optional. Just bring yourself and whatever you want to read in whatever format you prefer, or come early to browse and let us help you find your next favorite book. If audiobooks are more your thing feel free to bring your device and headphones so you can read that way.

Continue readingCome one, come all to Aquinas Literacy Center’s Silent Book Club in McKinley Park! We love to read and invite you to join us for reading, relaxing, and mingling among other bibliophiles. Bring your own book, whether that be a physical book, eBook, or audiobook, and spend 60 minutes reading in uninterrupted silence.
Events are free to attend and will be held once a month. The first 30 minutes will be social time (no requirement to socialize!), where you can mingle or make a cup of tea, then followed by an hour of reading. Tea, water, and coffee will be available for your enjoyment.

Hello, ALL readers!! If you are looking for some FREE me time once a month, please join us at New Book Joy in Edgebrook. We will be hosting a monthly (usually on the 3rd Saturday) from 4:00pm - 5:00pm (5:30pm if you would like to participate in our optional mix and mingle with other attendees) and you will have the opportunity to read upstairs in our lounge or downstairs in our booktique!
We will be offering other goodies and perks at each event too! If you are interested in joining in our Silent Book Club fun, please RSVP here, since spaces are limited. We are looking forward to reading silently with you!

Continue readingDeKalb Public Library's Silent Book Club takes place on the last Wednesday of each month. Please join us in having quiet social time to read whatever you like or listen to audiobooks through your own device and headphones. Bring your own reading material or choose something from our shelves.
Please arrive a few minutes early. Quiet time begins promptly at 6:00 pm. At 7:00 pm you will have a chance to share what you were reading, if you choose. Introverts welcome.

Continue readingBook lovers unite! Our Bloomington-Normal chapter offers a fun, no pressure way to join a book club and meet fellow book lover friends! We meet for two hours twice a month on a Thursday evening at Green Top Grocery in their teaching kitchen, and a Saturday afternoon with the location posted ahead of time in our Facebook group! All meetings will have a Facebook event page made!
We aim to enrich our lives by reading within a community, making new connections and friends, supporting local businesses, finingd new book recommendations, and spreading our love of books of all kinds! Everyone is welcome and we love every kind of book no matter the genre or format!
The Independence Branch welcomes readers once a month to gather for some independent reading, while still feeling a part of the community.
