A Silent Book Club to enjoy a moments peace to read with a hot drink and meet other like minded people. Meeting once a month, this group is for any book lovers that want to be with other book lovers, but don’t want to read the same book.

Welcome to the ‘Silent Book Club' in Hertford! Join us in exploring the captivating world of literature in our cosy corner based in the county town. Treat yourself to some time out devoted to reading in companionable silence, trading recommendations and NEVER worrying about having to finish a book. There is no assigned reading and your reviews are optional.

We currently meet once a month, with ad hoc meets in addition and a lively Facebook group to chat in, in between meets. We look forward to meeting you!

A peaceful Friday night, sitting amongst other keen readers and us here at David's, just enjoying what we love most - books. There are no set titles; bring along whatever book it is you're currently reading and unwind, getting lost in pages.

The first hour will be a chance to socialise with other readers if you'd like to, then the second hour will be completely silent reading. (Of course, feel free to read throughout the entire event!) Coffee, cakes and alcoholic drinks are available from the cafe where the silent book group takes place.
