In The Pines Studio is proud to now offer a Silent Book Club in the Portage County area for all you book lovers out there who also want to socialize with other like minded individuals.

Members will read together quietly in the cozy vintage haven of the beautiful studio with the option to socialize afterward.

All readers are welcome— poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction... it's BYOBook.

Once a month we meet up at and support a locally owned restaurant. Each member, from the young adventurer engrossed in a fantasy novel to the elderly gentleman lost in a classic, finds solace and connection in this shared silence. It’s a sanctuary from the cacophony of daily life. The restaurant staff, well-acquainted with our ritual, move gracefully to ensure our needs are met with minimal disruption. As we read, a unique bond forms among us, unspoken yet profound. Occasionally, a glance or a gentle smile is exchanged, acknowledging the shared joy and peace. There is no required book or reading, everyone just brings whatever they are reading at the moment.
