Branched Oak Observatory is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing astronomy and science to the general public. It is located near Raymond, Nebraska and 1/2 mile outside of Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area.
We started a Silent Book Club as a fun activity to do while we wait for it to get dark enough to see the night sky. People can bring their own books or peruse our library of nearly a thousand astronomy and science books.

Sometimes finding time to read can be difficult. Join us for camaraderie, refreshments, and a delightful hour of quality silent reading time. Bring your own reading material or select from library shelves. No registration required, free to attend, and for ages 18 and up.

Are you looking for a book club with no assigned reading? Read anything you want at the Ashland Public Library Silent Book Club. We'll spend the first 15 minutes chatting as a group, then we'll disperse around the library for 45 minutes of uninterrupted reading time. After the silent reading time, we'll come back together for 15-30 to chat about about books.

All reading counts! Bring a physical book, magazine, e-reader, or headphones and an audiobook. Feel free to bring a non-alcoholic beverage to enjoy while you read.

Bring Your Own Book (BYOB) and join us at the library as we chat about books for 30 minutes then spend an hour doing some silent reading! A great opportunity to get some book recommendations and meet some fellow readers! Please limit beverages to bottled water.
