Welcome to our local chapter of Silent Book Club, where there are no assigned readings, no pressure to finish a book on time, and BYOB (Bring Your Own Book). It’s The Introvert’s Happy Hour!

This group is for those who just want to relax and read along with other bookish people. While silence is the main game during the allotted hour, for those so inclined, there will be optional time to share what you are reading, and discuss literary things or just to get to know one another.

Hot Plate Brewing is located at 1 School Street, Pittsfield, MA (right next to the Police Station). Beer, wine, ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own food and snacks!

Have you ever wanted to join a book club without actually having to read a specific book or, you know, talk to people?  Silent Book Club may be for you.  GPL is starting a monthly program, where you can come, socialize (or not) for 45 minutes in our Maker Space, then go anywhere you want in the library and simply read.  You can read in groups, in couples, or gloriously alone.  It is totally up to you.

What kind of books can you read?  Whatever kind you want.  There's no judgment here, just reading. We'll see you here!

Here's how it works: Bring a book, have some coffee, tea and pastries, read for a while and then talk about what you're reading.

Registration not required but greatly appreciated. Adults only please.
