There’s no assigned reading at the Grant County Silent Book Club. We are dedicated to meeting monthly for dedicated silent reading time as well as seeing what our county has to offer. We visit local spots such as cafes, libraries, stores, restaurants, and bars to help foster community, solicit local businesses, and read. All readers are welcome - e-books, audiobooks, fiction, nonfiction, etc.

After the designated quiet reading time, participants are free to mingle and chat or continue reading on their own.

Ever want to be with others, but your social battery is too low for mingling? Have a pile of laundry at home distracting you from your pile of TBR (To Be Read)? Well, we have a Silent Book Club that could be your answer. Stop by, bring your own book, and read. We provide the snacks and the space, you come as you are.

We meet at First Presbyterian Church in Marion, IL in their fellowship hall. Marion is an up-and-coming, little town with a darling Town Square. First Presbyterian Church is an Open and Affirming PCUSA church in affiliation with More Light Presbyterians. All are welcome here. Continue reading
