Have you always loved the idea of book clubs—the chance to connect with fellow book lovers and discover new stories? But let's be honest, sometimes the pressure of finishing a book on time, not getting to pick what you want to read next or having something profound to say can take the fun out of it.
That's why I thought it would be amazing to start a Silent Book Club here in Jasper. No assigned reading, no deadlines, and no pressure—just a cozy space where we can gather, enjoy our books, and maybe even make a few new friends. Whether you're into ebooks, audiobooks, comics, or good old-fashioned paperbacks, all are welcome! I personally like to doodle while listening to audiobooks.
Our meetups will be a time to unwind, support a local business, and just enjoy an hour of quiet reading together. We'll start the meeting with quick introductions and sharing what we’re reading (if you want to share, no pressure!) Also, don’t worry if you’re running late, just pull up a chair and join us when you can! Afterwards, you're free to stick around and chat about what you're reading—or just head out, totally up to you!
Meetings are free to attend, but you're encouraged to support our host location by buying a drink or something to eat, if you can.
