Welcome to SBC George!

Come ready to mingle and read with like-minded readers in a beautiful serene environment. 

The space is created for readers to enjoy doing what they love doing: read books! You may bring your own book (BYOB), a Kindle or a tablet to join in the fun. We spend one quiet hour bring engrossed in your favourite read.

The one-hour session caters for reading in addition to a mix and mingle afterward.

The Bloemfontein Silent Book Club is the only club in the Free State in South Africa where 'socialising' means not having to say a single word. Bring a book, grab a seat, and let us collectively embrace the beauty of awkwardly ignoring each other. It's like a book club, but with less talking and more reading. Join us and experience the joy of quiet camaraderie—no book shaming, no spoilers, just you, your book, and a room full of people silently loving it!

Welcome to Silent Book Club, the introverted reader’s dream. Come and silently read with us at different spaces around the city. All types of books welcome, print books, audiobooks, ebooks as well as quiet activities like writing and knitting are encouraged to join. Abuja Silent Book Club is a group of book lovers who enjoy reading together in public. All books and all readers are welcome. (Kindly RSVP 'yes' only if you can make it, so we can save a seat for you and our fellow readers on the waitlist!).

This page-turning party will unfold in a cafe. There's no entrance fee, but please order at least one item from the cafe and don't bring any outside drinks :)
