We gather together as like-minded book lovers, whether novice or aficionado, to sit in blissful silence while diving into the pages of book. Some of us escape into far off lands that spark our imaginations and bring creativity to life. Some may be deep in thought while learning from an educational or life skills volume. Even some will be searching for a new author or genre to test the waters in. Whatever you seek between the pages, on your e-reader screen, or in your headphones, join us in peaceful companionship.

Greenville, KY

Greenville, KY

Would you rather read than socialize? Have you ever taken a book to a social event? We have the club for you. We’re starting a Silent Book Club here in Muhlenberg County. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, we will meet once a month. You bring whatever reading material you like. It’s a judgement free zone, so you don’t have to try to impress everyone with your love of the classics, unless that really is what you read. The first fifteen minutes or so are taken up by introductions and showing what you’re reading. This is not mandatory. Then, everyone reads silently for an hour. After that, if you want to stay and talk about books or whatever, you can. No pressure. This is a way for introverts like me to get out among other people and it’s also the book club for people who don’t want to be told what to read. If this interests you, grab your book and come join us! Find our upcoming meetings and more information here.
