We partner with TrovaTrip for international destinations, so you will book your trip on their website.
Trips that are not yet taking reservations will have a button for "Early access." To get first dibs on registration and access to early bird discounts, you must be a paid subscriber to our Substack newsletter. Sign up here for a monthly or annual subscription.
If a trip is sold out, you may have the option to join a waitlist. Paid subscribers to our newsletter get first access to cancellations if a spot becomes available.
For US trips booked directly through Silent Book Club, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. Full payment is due 30 days before departure. If you need to cancel, we will do our best to help you find someone to take your spot, but this is not guaranteed.
For international travel outside of the US, we're including select information from TrovaTrip's Traveler Booking Terms here for easy reference, but please read the full Terms & Conditions before making your payment. You will agree to these terms upon booking!
5.2 Down Payment Requirement. A Traveler is required to pay a 25% down payment (“Down Payment”) per person per Booking to be confirmed. Your Down Payment is refundable until your Booking is confirmed in writing. If booked more than 90 days prior to departure, you will have 48 hours to cancel without penalty once confirmation notification is sent. If booked within 90 days of departure, your booking becomes non-refundable upon confirmation.
5.4 Acceptance of Booking and Final Payments. Payment of the balance of the Booking price is due 90 days before the Departure Date. If this balance is not paid on or before the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your Booking, subject to the cancellation and refund policy provided below. All credits provided in this Agreement must be used within 12 months of the date of cancellation.

5.7.3 For Departure Dates more than 90 days in advance, if your Booking has been confirmed, and you cancel the Booking, outside of 48 hours from notification being sent, you shall be granted a trip credit in the amount of the Down Payment, less $100 cancellation fee for each spot cancelled. Travel is unpredictable and flights and tours are expensive! We require all SBC Reading Retreat participants to purchase travel insurance at the time of booking to cover unexpected cancellations, illness or injury, lost baggage, or other expenses. You can compare plans online and purchase from any provider. Life happens and we want you to be safe and covered.
